Speech Trek What is Speech Trek? Speech Trek is a speech competition for all high schoolers, public and private. The event begins with a speech tournament for local students hosted by the San Mateo Branch of AAUW and culminates with three top state finalists performing their five minute speech at the AAUW State Convention. The San Mateo Branch of AAUW has had competitors in three of the last four years with two state finalists. The first place winner at the state level wins $1000. Second and third places each win $500.
