The American Association of University Women (AAUW) is a national organization that advances equity for women and girls through advocacy, education, research and philanthropy. In principle and practice, AAUW values and seeks a diverse membership. There shall be no barriers to full participation in this organization on the basis of gender, race, creed, age, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, or class.

The San Mateo Branch, celebrating 75 years of community involvement and activism, welcomes you. Join us in exploring all that we have to offer. Our monthly newsletter, Bay Leaves, provides information on branch activities and updates on the National and State AAUW activities.

Our Interest Sections are an integral part of the AAUW experience. They are groups of like-minded women who get together to share common interests and learn from each other. Click here to see the listing of current Sections (Adobe PDF format).

This branch serves the communities of Burlingame, Foster City, Hillsborough and San Mateo.

Our branch supports education in several important ways: The AAUW Educational Foundation, the Gayman Endowment Scholarships for local community college students, Tech Trek for local middle school girls and Speech Trek for all high school students.
